Rusty began his racing career in Austin,Texas at the age of 16. While in the service with the US Marine Corps,he raced in the street stock class in Savannah,GA at Ogolthorpe Speedway. Upon returning to Austin, Rusty began racing the super stock class and took the checkered flag 4 times in 1997. Currently, Rusty, at the young age of 29, Races the limited late model class at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle,TX. Rusty studied Automotive Engineering and is married with an eleven month old daughter. A competent and experienced driver, Rusty plans to take Xcell Racing to ARCA for the 1999 racing season with NASCAR in mind for the near future.

Sponsorship of an individual ARCA race team provides an exciting means of sponsor identification. the race cars themselves inevitably become the focus of attention, creating a high visibility marketing vehicle- a rolling billboard. With a 71% male/29% female attendance ratio and almost 16 million television viewers a year ARCA is one of the fastest growing series in America. When asked if they would attend another race 84% said absolutely, 15% said probably, with only 1% saying probably not. Of those, 25% earn incomes of over $50,000, 19% over $40,000, 17% over $30,000, 13% over $20,000, and 9% over $75,000. 75% say they are highly influenced by the teams' sponsors.
